LAURA DOSSAYEVA

“I believe that the spaces we live in have the power to shape the quality of our lives.”

ABOUT ME

I am an interior designer and decorator, and a mother of four. For me, an interior is more than beautiful walls, furniture and decor. It is the setting in which we rest, raise children, welcome those close to us and live through the moments that matter.

Over the years, I have noticed that when a home is truly considered and reflects the people who live there, more than the interior changes. The atmosphere shifts too — people want to gather more often, invite guests and spend more time at home.

That is why I create more than beautiful interiors. I help shape spaces with character, history and soul.

ART.eL DESIGN grew from this approach: a studio where every interior begins not with a style, but with a person, their way of life and the character of the space.

MY APPROACH

I begin with the person

I want to understand not only what kind of interior a client likes, but how they live: how their day unfolds, where the family gathers, how they welcome guests, what helps them rest and which things hold particular meaning.

From this, the space gradually takes shape — its plan, light, materials, furniture and details. An interior should do more than look good; it should support a person’s habits and way of life.

I love finding the details that make a home personal and distinctive, connecting it to its owners, their character, history and memories.

Materials, objects and art that make an interior personal.

Space with character

I believe a space should speak about the people it is created for — their values, character, habits and way of life. In a home, this is the story of a person and a family. In a commercial interior, it is the character of the place, its idea and the impression it leaves on guests. I seek out details that make a space personal and distinctive rather than something that looks as though it came from a catalogue.

My path into design began in a very different field

My first degree was in economics, followed by an MBA in Finance at KIMEP. That experience taught me to think systematically, to see the structure behind an idea and to understand that a strong result is always built from many decisions.

Over time, I became increasingly fascinated by space and the way it affects us: why one place makes us want to stay while another, even if visually flawless, leaves us unmoved. This curiosity gradually led me to interior design.

I continued my professional education in design and then explored the art of decoration in greater depth. Working with materials, art, objects and details became central to my approach: they give a space character and connect it to the people it is created for.

This professional journey gradually shaped the approach that became the foundation of ART.eL DESIGN.

Today, I am interested in developing this approach not only in residential interiors but also in hospitality spaces. I have continued my professional studies in this field through the HORECA Workshop at Milano Business School.

My path continues to evolve, but one thing remains constant: a space must be more than beautiful. It must bring something meaningful to the life of the person who inhabits it.

“Beauty is not a luxury. It is a form of everyday support.”
